Soft hair, simple updo~ my look for today

Hello everyone,

     I used my favorite coconut oil/olive oil/egg hair mask before I washed my hair two nights ago, and it is still very soft and easy to comb out.  I definitely recommend this hair treatment~ it is simple to mix up, all-natural and a great conditioner!
     Today instead of braiding my hair, I put it up in a wavy updo using small hair clips.  Thank you for coming by to see my pictures :-)

Side-swept Updo

Hello everyone,

     This morning I fixed my hair in a style similar to my favorite Mohawk hairstyle, but instead of having my Mohawk centered I made it off to one side.  I love the side-swept look, plus the fact that you can see more of my hair from the front view and not just from behind.

Dutch braid in the evening light

Hello friends,

     We managed to take hair pictures in the evening light before the sun completely set~ a blossom-Dutch braid with a braided bun was my look for today.  I love the way a Dutch braid looks so full and lacey when you slightly tug on the sides to give it the blossom effect.  You can see how I do this in my last YouTube video.
     And speaking of YouTube, I saw the best cartoon ever tonight and found the link so I could share it with you.  You may have seen it already, the Pixar short film "Lava."  It is so sweet, and the scenery looks just like our islands <3

French Rope Updo~ my look for today

Hi everyone,

     The sky was rather overcast this morning, but still a great day for taking hair pictures :-)  I washed my hair last night but first I used my new monoi oil from Tahiti instead of my coconut oil.  I'm so thankful to my sweet friend in Holland for suggesting I try monoi oil!  It is amazing and smells absolutely wonderful.  I also used an apple cider vinegar rinse~ a great way to clean your hair and make it extra-soft every few months or so.

     By the way, a friend asked where I get my small hair clips.  Usually I find them at Ross stores when I'm traveling in the US, and in Europe I found them in other stores as well.  I love using small clips as apposed to bobby pins, they seem to hold my hair much better and don't tug or hurt as the day goes on.

Accented French Braid

Hi everybody,

     I loved the double-braid/push-up accent combination so much that I decided to try another version, this time using a push-up braid and a lace braid to accent my French braid.  Adding small accents to a French braid are a quick and easy way to make an extra-special hairstyle.
     (A surprise Christmas waltz with Santa Goofy~ who also liked my hair-do :-)

Ginger Rogers' Updo

Hi everybody,

     Last night I washed my hair, but used coconut oil first.  I combed my hair out and put coconut oil on the length, especially toward the ends.  Then I put my hair in a bun and waited a few hours, and washed my hair as normal.  I love how coconut oil conditions and strengthens my hair, plus it smells wonderful <3
     When I was searching the internet for pictures to go with my Ginger Rogers' half-updo post, I saw this picture of another one of her beautiful hairstyles.  So this morning I made my own version.  I saved a small section of hair at the nape of my neck, and piled the rest of my hair into a slightly messy, big bun.  Then I French braided the section of hair I had set apart, and wrapped the end of my braid around my bun.
     The morning sun was perfect for taking hair pictures!
