Pink Lace Braids Updo

Hello friends,

     Today I parted my hair in the tear-drop form that I learned from my friend Raychel in her book about hair-braiding.  Raychel's book is amazing, by the way, I highly recommend it!
     Thankfully the storm seems to be passing by without causing much damage to our islands.  How fun to take hair pictures with pink flowers in the background to match my favorite pink t-shirt from my trip to England in September.

Tear-drop Part~ my look for today

Today I made a tear-drop part and braided my hair in two lace braids.  To do this part, first I sectioned off a hairband-section of hair closest to my face, but braided the hair immediately behind it.  Then I unclipped my hairband section and braided it in the opposite direction.  You can probably tell better what I am talking about from my pictures than my description!  Thank you so much for coming by to look :-)

 

 

Teardrop Form, with Butterfly Accent

I hope you are having a good week-end so far!  Today I fixed my hair in the teardrop form that I learned from my favorite braid book.  First you section off enough hair for a hairband braid, then braid the hair directly behind it. Next you braid your hairband section in the opposite direction.  I used the two little side English braids that I made with hair I accidentally left out of my headband braid to made a cute butterfly accent to my bun.  I say butterfly because the two loops remind me of butterfly wings.  The pictures were taken tonight with a flash, something I don't try very often.  It makes a nice change!

Teardrop Part

Yesterday I tried parting my hair in a new way that I learned from my book, called a Teardrop.  First you section off hair for a hairband braid.  Then you Dutch lace braid the hair directly behind your hairband section, from behind one ear all the way across to your other ear.  When that braid is finished, you braid the hairband section in the opposite direction.  I had accidentally left out a tiny section of hair, so I turned it into an accent piece.
