Clear Blue Sky hairstyle

Hi everyone,

The sky was such a beautiful clear blue today, I tried to take hair pictures using it as the background.  A little different angle than usual was needed to get the sky in the same picture :-)
In case you are wondering, I made one finger-crochet braid in the middle and secured it with bobby pins.  It looks rather like a mohawk braid.  I took a strand of hair from one side and wrapped it up and over the top bobby pin that was holding my crochet braid.  Then I did the same thing with a single strand of hair from the opposite side.  The effect looks like my hair is folded and tucked in place.

(And such an amazing sight to see yesterday)

Finger Crochet~ and my newest Youtube video!

Hello everyone,

Thank you so much for coming to see my new hair post!  A friend saw where I shared this look as one of my favorites from 2014, and asked if I could do a demo video on 'finger crochet.'  So here it is, my next Youtube video :-)

After making my video, I took some pictures of this look.  It has a shabby-chic feel to it, I think.  A fun and unusual hair-do!  Thank you so much for following my blog and for subscribing to my channel.  It is fun sharing pictures and videos with you all.  I hope that you have a wonderful day!

Later this afternoon, I had some more hair pictures taken by the water.  We were just in time to see another beautiful Micronesian sunset.

French Crochet

Hi friends,

Today I made a French braid to one side, then added a finger-crochet accent.  This look is so easy to create!  I learned it from my braid book by Raychel Potter.  You basically make a loop, then pin it in place where the loops overlaps itself.  The loop becomes your "hat," and you reach inside the hat and pull your strand of hair through (your "rabbit" pulled from your "hat").  You keep repeating the pull-through steps until you've finished crocheting as much as you need for your accent.

4-piece French braid with chain accents~ my look for today

Hi everybody,

Today I tried a trendy 4-piece side French braid, with two finger-crochet braids added as accents.  I love the "chain" look they have to them~ they seem complicated but are actually quite easy :-)
