5-strand French braid

Hi everyone,

Today I braided my hair in a 5-strand French braid.  My bun is actually a regular 3-strand braid that I wound up and clipped in place with little butterfly clips.

Hi friends,

     Today I tried to fix my hair in a modern look to match the pattern of my dress.  My side braid is actually a French loop braid, but it looks more like a 5 or 6 strand Dutch braid because I did not pull on the loops to make them stand out from my braid.  I put the rest of my hair into a side ponytail which I then braided in a long rope braid.  I wrapped my rope braid up into a bun.  Then I took the length of my French braid and wrapped it around the outside of my bun.  My hair is held in place with bobby pins and a single hair-clip on one side.

5-Strand Dutch Braid~ my new demo video!

Hi everybody,

I washed my hair the night before, so yesterday I made a demo video on my 5-strand Dutch braid.  After making my video, I wrapped the tail of my braid up and clipped it in place which is the look you see in the pictures below.  These were taken in the evening, so I had already been wearing my braid for quite a while.  Thank you so much for watching my new video!  I hope you enjoy, I know I certainly have fun sharing these pictures and videos with you all <3

5-strand Dutch braid

Hi friends,

Today I tried making a 5-strand Dutch braid for the first time, and was very excited with the results.  I've done a French braid version before, but today instead of starting out by crossing the strands "over-under-over" like a French version, I used the Dutch version of "under-over-under."  I think if I do a video of this look, it will have to be in front of my mirror so I can keep everything straight while I'm braiding!
     One thing I noticed about this braid was that it disguised several inches of my hair length.  When my hair is down it reaches my ankles, but you can tell from the pictures that in this braid it looks shorter, if I can say that :-)

Micronesian Girl~ 2 lace braids + 5-strand braid = 1 Fun Schoolgirl Hairstyle

Hi everybody,

My little friend has such pretty hair.  This afternoon I braided it for her~ two lace braids and a 5-strand braid.  Her hair is perfect, very combed and tangle-free.  I think the secret is coconut oil; most Micronesian girls use it faithfully every day, and it works great with their thick, black hair.  Thank you for coming by to see our pictures!
