Spiral Rope Braid Updo~ my Thanksgiving Day hair

Hi friends, Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Yesterday I fixed my hair in a spiral rope lace braid, held in place with tiny hairclips.  I'm always relieved to be able to do this braid once again, it can be tricky to braid in a circle around your own head!  I admit to cheating a little with my clips, they help me create the circle when I can't turn my head or my arms any farther :-)

Micronesian Girl~ Perfect Spiral Braid

Hello from the islands,

Isn't she a sweetheart, and with such a beautiful hairstyle!  I gave my little friend a package of bright hairclips, and the next time I saw her she had them in her hair.  They make such cute accents to this perfect braid!

Spiral Rope Braid Updo

Hello friends,

Today I tried my hand at a spiral rope braid.  I actually only French braided the first circle or two, and from that point I pinned the length of my rope braid into the spiral look that you see here.  It really did not take me very long at all, because my hair was freshly washed and combed out from the night before.  I'm pretty certain it took less than 20 minutes (I always forget to check the clock!)  My hair has stayed up all day long, so I guess I used enough bobby pins!

Merry Christmas to all of you!  I hope you have a wonderful week full of celebration and joy.

Coiled Rope Braid

Hello friends,

It's great to be back home in the islands.  I have a few hairstyles in store from my trip, and will post them in a few days.  But for now, here are some pictures of my look for today.  I started out with a headband rope braid, and kept coiling it around into this braided updo.  My little hairclips hold everything in place perfectly!
As always, thank you so much for following my blog!  I appreciate all your kind comments and pageviews.
